ABOUT ME
I am an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. This means that, for example, I meet the UK Home Office requirements for translators of foreign documents.
I was born and brought up in Sheffield, and started studying languages at High Storrs school.
After my studies in Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge University and a year teaching in France, I started out in translation in 2009. Since then I’ve worked for a wide variety of clients all over the world.
The work I'm proudest of is the wide variety of work that I have done for the Qobuz music company, which ranges from highly technical reviews of Hi-Fi equipment to wide-ranging discussions of instruments, music and culture in reviews of music covering five continents and many centuries.
The work I enjoy the most is anything to do with animals and nature - and in particular a large Environmental Impact Report for a major engineering project I worked on detailing the lives of all sorts of animals on Germany's Baltic coast.
I’m registered self employed with HMRC in the UK.
